Buddhist leader Dalai Lama has inaugurated the 'International Sangha Forum' in Bodhgaya.

Under the umbrella topic of "Bridging traditions, embracing modernity: A dialogue on the Buddha's
teaching in today's world," the forum will also discuss the commonalities and distinctive qualities of the various Buddhist traditions, including Pali, Sanskrit, and Tibetan.
"It is important to cultivate compassion in everyone, whether they follow the Pali or Sanskrit traditions of Buddhism. For our own well-being and the sake of world peace, we must emulate the Bodhisattva. "I have benefited greatly from following the practices of the Bodhisattva," the Dalai Lama remarked during the inaugural speech.
In a similar vein, practicing Bodhichitta, or the mind of enlightenment, is extremely valuable and provides us with inner strength. Bodhichitta was the reason why Buddha attained enlightenment. It is important for us to prioritize Bodhichitta and refrain from causing harm to others. Bodhichitta makes you feel comfortable. Jealousy, rage, and hatred fade," the Dalai Lama continued.
The purpose of the summit is to address the "urgent and pressing need" to preserve the authenticity of the established Buddhist traditions while allowing the Buddha's teachings to be modified to meet the demands of the difficult modern times. More than 2,000 monks, leaders of Buddhist institutions, and devotees from 33 countries are attending.
The participants from Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Russia, India, and other nations will also talk about how to uphold and support the standards of Buddhist monastics in the modern world in addition to discussing how to strike a balance between traditions and modernity.
Speaking at length on the occasion, the Dalai Lama emphasized that ignorance and bad feelings must be eradicated from people because they cause suffering to both themselves and others through their misdeeds. In addition, he pleaded with everyone to heed the Buddha's teachings, which include abstaining from all evil, developing a profusion of virtue, mastering the mind, not harming anyone, and doing good deeds.
